3rd Place Winner – Kya Andreou

Today – September 1st 1915

Today, I can hear the pouring heavy rain banging on the rooftops like the bombs that exploded, crashed and burnt.

Today, I can smell the burning smoke from the train like the fire from home that burns and cackles.

Today, I can feel my soft fluffy teddy in my right hand clutching on to it, it was the fluffiest thing ever like the softest blanket in the world.

Today, I can see the rapping, repetitive rain drops as they race to the bottom of the window like the tears running down my face

Today, Inside I feel worried, like when my mum waved goodbye and had a tear in her eye.
